Siete

Megan, the girl who started Siete, had a barrel race last night. Normally I wouldn't even think of riding on such a crummy day but Megan said she wanted to see Siete and I couldn't resist. I had to start getting the horses about 4. Of course they were down by the blacktop. Walking that's about a mile round trip. The first 50 feet weren't too bad but the rest was hot. Leilani was the closest so I got her. I wasn't sure the others would follow but they did. I fed them and put Siete in the barn. After Paula got home we saddled her and took off. I was 100% sure Siete would do just fine but you never know.
We went all over and she did a lot of looking but just kept going. A woman I know saw her and wanted me to show Siete to her husband. She said he would love Siete. He did and wanted to know if he could buy her. Since there isn't enough money anywhere to buy her he couldn't. He understood. He said some horses just aren't for sale. It took awhile to get done and Paula and I didn't get home until 11. We're just like the kids. haha. It was a good night for both of us. And Siete.

Buzz and Wendy

I came in at noon. I wasn't watching Buzz and all of a sudden he chased a cat downstairs. Then I heard him crying. I went into the kitchen as he came up the stairs. Wendy was right behind him fluffed up to Juan size. She hit Buzz and made him cry again. He went behind me and she followed hitting him again and making him cry again. I picked up Buzz and held him for awhile. Wendy sat watching him. I had to go so I put him down. Wendy watched him go into the bedroom and waited until he got on the bed before she left. I petted Buzz a little extra and told him to be careful. Buzz is better now. One of the kittens saw Jeffy for the first time. It did its best Halloween cat impression.

Wendy used to be a shy cat that ran from the dogs. Not now. Yesterday Lucy got on the couch and laid on part of a kitten. The kitten really howled and eventually pulled itself out. Wendy watched the whole time. When Lucy got off Wendy chased her into the bedroom and then I heard Lucy squeak. I went to look and Wendy had Lucy cornered by the bed. I got Lucy out while Wendy glared at her. Ever since Wendy has been staring down all 3 dogs. It doesn't work as well on Buzz, he's so happy and bouncy he doesn't notice anything until he gets hit. The other 2 are keeping an eye on her.

claire, again

Last week Claire got constipated again. I whined until Paula agreed to drop her off before work. Paula said I should have called the day before. I said what if she started going? Later that morning Dr. Lindsay called and said she got a lot of bones out and some paper towels. I told her Paula had cooked a turkey a few days ago and I had put the carcass in the trash. I had noticed someone had gotten into it but hadn't actually seen anyone eating. This is actually a good thing. That's a reason to get plugged up. So I've watched Claire and she's going fine. She's not learning from the past very well.

barn

I was fixing the fence the cows broke when we worked them. Claire was poking around but the other dogs were in the house. I was done and picked my stuff up. I saw Claire laying in the barn and then saw Wendy laying next to her. So I put my stuff down and sat with them. Clair rolled of course and Wendy moved just out of reach. Of course she didn't come closed. Wendy got up and left and then Claire followed her. Since they all left me I left.
