Easter bunny

Went out with the dogs as usual. We always check the horses first. After that I looked at the cows a little. Coming back I saw Buzzie in the horse pen and he was running out as fast as he could run. Lucy was trotting alongside. The horses weren't even looking so he wasn't running from them. When he got out I saw he had caught his own bunny. It wasn't very big but it was his. I told him if it was next year's Easter bunny he would be in a lot of trouble. He didn't care and ate the whole thing.

Leilani

I've been having the horses do some jumps. I lay 3 barrels down and send them over. I don't think the horses mind. They tend to come roaring up like a runaway train and hurl themselves over like it's 8 feet high. So I try to get them to come up respectfully and jump calmly. Last night Siete did her jumps nicely and I got Leilani. Leilani is a good jumper but she tends to hit a barrel with her back toe. Then I stop and put the barrel back. She made a couple jumps and hit a barrel, moving it about a foot. I'm getting tired of putting barrels back so I turned her around and sent her back to jump the other way. Leilani came running up, slammed on the brakes, and rolled the barrel back into place with her nose. Then she gave me a look. Paula was home and she cracked up. The next jump Leilani cleared cleanly. I guess if she's going to have to do all the work she won't hit the barrels.

potatoes

Saturday we planted potatoes. I didn't look at them Sunday since I knew they wouldn't have done anything. Monday I did walk by and noticed a bunch had been dug out. Of course I immediately suspected a small furry dog. He likes to garden and when he sees people digging he likes to join in. I put the potatoes back. Before I went in that night I looked and everything was still buried. Next morning there were a few dug out. Well that wasn't Buzzie. Buzzie was like why do I get blamed for everything? There's a reason just not this time. This morning was the first I didn't find anything dug out. The potatoes are now scattered. We'll have to see where they come up to find them. There were a lot of cutworms that got tilled up. Maybe something was looking for them.

leilani

Leilani hadn't been ridden all winter and I told Paula she was ready. Paula wasn't sure but she got on anyway. Leilani was just as good now as she has ever been. The last couple of times I got her out to work her on the ground I thought she was ready to go to work. She backed so well they almost went over the top of Buzzie. Tonight while Siete was eating she stopped. 2 calves had come up to the gate. Siete had to stare them down so she could finish eating.
