buzz

Buzzie went to get his blood checked today. It turned out just fine. Paula washed him this weekend. When I took him in he was a mudball. I told everyone that when something happens on the farm you just go to the hospital without cleaning up. But when you go back then you want to be clean. I said that was what Buzzie did. He was a very big sissy at the doctor's. When Dr. Dave tried to get blood he cried like a baby. He's so small there's not room for 2 people to hold on. He can be very squirmy. He had a scrape on his eye and Dr. Dave tried to cauterize it but it just wasn't going to work. As soon as we were done Buzz was ok. All was forgotten. Unless something changes he's done with all this.

Buzz

Went out this afternoon to clean out the horsebarn. When it starts cooling off in the fall mice start coming in. There's no feed in there but they come in anyway. I put out some rat bait and it seems to work. But the mice leave a mess behind so I was moving stuff and sweeping it out. I heard Buzzie crunching something and when I looked I thought he had a bone. He kept crunching and I looked again. Then I saw he had a bag of mouse food. I made him go inside. I wasn't going to do anything but I decided to call Paula. She called Dr. Dave and he said bring him in and we'd make him throw up. So we loaded up. Buzz was still soaked from being outside. When I got there we gave him some peroxide and put him in a kennel. After awhile he threw up and there was some green stuff. I waited a little longer and took him home. We'll go back Monday to see if his blood is clotting correctly.

horses

Went out to see the horses and they were all lined up looking at something to the east. So I looked too. Dave was chasing a cow with his atv. I stood there with them for awhile and we all watched. This afternoon I was working in the shed. The dogs were poking around and occasionally I would see one go by. Yesterday they caught a rat and Buzzie was carrying it all over. After awhile I heard someone honking. It was our mail lady but she wasn't bringing me mail. She was driving really slow. She said she stopped because she had seen Buzz on the road and was coming to tell me. Of course he followed her in the yard. We talked for a little about what a dummy he was and she left. I put all the dogs in the house. The girls aren't good babysitters.

toys

Our worst storm day was probably Tuesday. I didn't realize that at first but then I noticed Buzzie had all his toys in a pile. I guess he knew before me. I don't know how he knows because he's not gone out much his week. I don't blame him, it's not only cold but it's tough for him to walk. His feet are so hairy they ice up immediately. Yesterday he got all the way out to the horses. Tami saw his pictures and said he's obviously is a red roan paint. He likes being called that.

snow

Got a lot of snow. As usual Buzzie is our little boy. He wants to get out and play, he's very anxious. But then he starts getting wet and cold. He'll start looking at me and if I don't take him in he starts following me everywhere I go. His tail gets real low and he starts dragging it. I try to get him in quickly after all I don't want him getting sick. The other dogs aren't much better they just go little longer. They're legs are longer so they get around much better.
