Quite awhile ago at Lucas Claire jumped out of the pickup and went right at a prairie chicken. Last week at the windmill she jumped out and ran right at a quail. She almost caught it but it got away. Claire went on but Buzzie was following. Buzz ran right into a covey of 15 or 20 quail. He just went nuts. He was everywhere and his tail almost came off his body. One if Buzzie's problems is that he doesn't see over the horizon very well. Quail don't go very far and dogs can watch and follow them. Well Buzz didn't see where they went but he worked where they had been very hard. We've had a lot of grasshoppers but there are a few less. Buzz is getting good at catching them. He doesn't get the big leapers but he's hard on the others. Juan watched him catch one but Buzz lost it. Juan jumped about 3 feet in the air, caught the hopper and gave it to Buzz. Buzz lost it again and Juan jumped in the air, caught it and gave it to Buzz again. Buzz lost it and Juan walked away disgusted.
