2

Had 2 sales this week. A cow sale on Tuesday night. Monday Cass was erratic. We spent a lot of time going forwards backwards sideways and combinations. I had Elena but I wanted to work out Cass's problems. By the end of the sale she was finally getting better. Tuesday she did lots better. It was a night sale which probably had Cass concerned. She missed her favorite eating time. It was hard to see with the shadows. There was a solid gate that showed Cass's shadow. About the first 10 times by Cass stared at the horse in the shadow. Tami said she took some pairs down and one calf carefully jumped every shadow.

mice

The Mexican cats are catching a lot of mice. They're all coming in the house. Last night they either had 4 or 5 mice or one mouse lasted forever. Every time we heard a squeal Lucy took off. I finally shut the bedroom door so she couldn't get out. Then Lucy was restless the rest of the night. Before we went to bed they were playing with a mouse and Lucy jumped in so they lost it. Today Juan was playing with one. They'd better hope these are lo cal mice or we'll have some fat cats.

mexican cats

They're still catching mice. Actually Sunday it was a mole. Today at noon Juan was chowing down on a mouse. After he eats he is totally sleep the rest of the day. I'm afraid he's not going to be able to go to Tami's house. She said Derek would be upset if cats brought mice in. Juan is so proud of himself I don't think he'll stop. Plus they taste good. Leilan is still getting better. She'll have to be confined for 2 more weeks and then get her stitches out.

boot

When I came in at noon Juan was playing with a rubber boot in the kitchen. He had his head in so far he got stuck pulling out. He pushed the boot into the front room. He was still having trouble getting his head out but this time he pulled a gigantic fat mouse out. All the Mexican cats started chasing. I had to work hard to keep the dogs away. They played with the mouse forever. It was squeaking loudly. Finally they ate it. Tonight they will hardly move. I think Juan got most of it. All he'll do tonight is moan about eating the whole thing.

shots

Lucy got her shots yesterday. She got a heartworm test which was negative and gave a stool sample. Amazingly she had no worms. Dr. Dave accused her of not being able to catch rabbits. She's actually good at catching rabbits. I think she's immune to rabbit worms while Claire gets them bad. We weighed her and she weighed 57.8 pounds. I said we had to weigh her again because Macy had a toe on the scale. We did and this time she was 58. That's without Macy. Last year she was 46. Well she's a growing dog.

getting better

Leilani is getting better. She's staying in the horse barn so she doesn't overdo. I take her out for walks and to wash her leg. They call it Hydro therapy. I don't know what's next. That night all we talked about wsa the immediate stuff. The stitches are supposed to stay in 3 weeks. Ray thought that was a long time. I never thought of that either. We walked out to get the mail. There were a bunch of letters and she wanted to eat them.

monday

Got up early to go to the sale. It was a long one. Leilani and I were dragging at the end. I got leg cramps from pushing on her so much. She did a good job. After I got home we loaded 2 semi's of hogs. It turned out they followed me from Wilson. Loading went good and didn't take long. Sunday Ray and I went out riding. Cass had been limping a little but it looks like she isn't anymore.
